i think that i've said it enough times, and posted enough editorials full of isabel marant for any man/animal/other to realize that i have an obsession (to put it mildly) with isabel marant. this week is paris fashion week- pret a porter- fall/winter 2012/2013. yesterday, leaving my poor co-worker during our worst week thus far, i shamelessly took my day off to go explore the isabel marant show at the couvent des cordeliers in saint germain. i am not going to sit here and pretend that i had an invite to get in… i didn't. however the street style was extordinary, the ambiance lively, i got to say hello to arizona muse, and a very friendly photographer let me go through his shots of the show right after so i left very happy.
the wild west is in and bohemian is out. cowboys and indians, marlboros, and whiskey all seem pretty appropriate. the girls were tan, with rosy lips, light eyes, and wavvy hair, looking incredibly beautiful and natural. ram jam- black betty played in the back ground to keep that rock and roll americana egde strong. laced up pants, embroidery, frills, suede, lace, western shirts, and studded cowboy boots. good old americana bad ass at its best. in true isabel marant fashion however the ass kicking suede lace up pants were always kept light and chic with a lace top. there was a good balance to bring us back to paris every once in a while as well with some tailored jackets and fur.
naturally this has only furthered my desire for leather, leopard print furs, studded anything, lace, and mini skirts/dresses… what can you do.
here are some of my favorite looks…
